Virgin hair is human hair that is unprocessed and unaltered. It is collected from a single donor, and has not been dyed, permed, bleached, or treated with any chemicals. To achieve different textures, Mayvenn gently steam processes the hair to create beautiful, bouncy waves and curls in an array of textures.
“Remy” is a mysterious word that’s used often, but never quite explained. “Remy” refers to the alignment of the hair cuticle, or the outermost layer of the hair shaft. It is collected from the donor in a way that keeps the hair’s cuticles aligned and going in the same direction. When the cuticles are intact, the hair stays silky smooth and is less-prone to annoyances like tangling, shedding, and flyaways.

What Is Dyed Virgin Hair?

Human hair has been collected from multiple donors meaning the hair on one bundle may have come from multiple heads. It is typically non-remy, meaning the cuticles on the hair strands tend to go in different directions. However, we’re happy to say Mayvenn carries 100% machine remy human hair (the 100% is important – you won’t find random strands of horse or goat hair in the mix, we promise!) that has been pre-colored for your convenience.
