What is a 13x4 lace frontal?

* A lace frontal is similar to a lace closure as it is the finishing touch to any installation. Lace frontal stretch from ear to ear and measures
* 13" X 4" and gives a natural appearing hairline.Lace Frontal orders with 3 parts is an custom order. 
 

What is a Lace Front Wig?

* Lace front wigs are manufactured with a thin lace that extends from ear to ear across the hairline.
* Lace front wigs are made similar to a regular ladies wig along the back and sides of the unit.
* When you receive the unit the lace will be really long in the front, you will cut the lace along the front of the unit. The goal here is to create a new hairline. You will not cut all of the lace, as you will apply adhesive to the lace/your new hairline.
* Once the unit is applied, you will have on a full hair wig - but the front of the hair wig will not be like a regular wig. The wig will appear that it is growing directly from your head.

What is a Full Lace Wig?

* Full lace wigs are manufactured with a cap, and a thin lace sewn on top of the cap. Individual hairs are then sewn into the thin lace.
* Full lace wigs will have lace all around the unit, and require the lace to be cut all around the unit. You will be cutting a hairline around your entire head. By doing so, once done you can wear your hair anyway you like, ponytails, up-dos etc. Think about it. With the wig, you have just cut yourself a new hairline around your entire head.
* Once the unit is applied, you will have on a full hair wig - but the front, back, and sides of the hair wig will not be like a regular wig. The wig will appear that all of the hair is growing directly from your head.

What is the difference between a lace front wig and a full lace wig?  

* A lace front wig is not with lace around the back, so you cannot wear it in a high ponytail with back. A full lace wig is with lace all around available for being worn in a high ponytail, which will give a more natural looking than lace front wigs.

What is hair grade?

Virgin hair : means the hair is unprocessed/untreated, not been bleached, not been dyed, keeps the original quality of hair.cuticle intact/ cuticle unspoiled, the hair colors can be changed easily. (we usually call our virgin hair Grade 8A or Grade 7A)

Remy hair : means the hair has been processed(been bleached or dyed), but keeps all cuticles facing the same direction, Remy hair will definitely be tangle-free. (the one which is very full is Grade 6A, the one which is not full in the end is Grade 5A)

Non-Remy hair : means the hair has been processed, but does not keep all cuticles in the same direction. This kind of hair feels not so silky as remy hair, and it may be tangle after using sometime.(This kind of hair is Grade 4A)

What is Virgin remy hair？ Refers to hair that is completely unprocessed, Full cuticle intact. To qualify as virgin hair, it must meet rigorous standards including: not been permed, dyed, colored, bleached, chemically processed in any way. Virgin hair is the hair you want if you are going to dye the hair. Virgin hair is likely to have a few strands of grey since it is in its natural color and has not been dyed. This is a natural characteristic of 100% virgin hair. It usually comes in a color range around #1b to #2, a natural dark brown to dark brown.

What is a lace wig?

A lace wig is also called "cranial hair prosthesis", "hair replacement system", or a "unit". A lace wig is constructed on a very thin mesh/lace cap. It is constructed to have a very realistic hairline. You can part the wig and it looks very natural. The wig appears as if hair is growing right out of your scalp and hairline. You apply the lace to your skin with lace wig adhesive and the lace vanishes once adhered to your skin. Lace wigs are very versatile, you can wear a high ponytail or up do.

What is the difference between a Full Lace Wig, Lace Front Wig, and Lace Frontal?

Full Lace Wig:Full Lace Wigs are constructed with the entire cap being lace as well as the perimeter of the wig. Full lace wigs allow you to wear your hair in high up dos and ponytails. When you apply the wig, you will have an undetectable hairline. 
Lace Front Wig: Lace Front Wig or Front Lace Wig is constructed with lace only in the front of the wig and the remainder of the wig is constructed with a regular netted wig cap or other materials such as thin-skin. You will not be able to wear a front lace wig in high up dos or ponytails.
Lace Frontal: A Lace Frontal is a partial piece of lace that is constructed to only adhere to the front hairline and front perimeter of your head. A Frontal is great for women who suffer from thinning hairlines and wish to add fullness to the front hairline. The lace frontal is applied to the front hairline area, and your natural hair is worn out, or extensions are applied to the rest of the hair.

Will a lace wig damage my hairline?

No. If you wig is applied properly, it will not damage your hairline. You must cut your lace and leave enough lace to hold/adhere the glue to your skin. You will need extra lace to hold the wig firmly and avoid placing glue/tape to your hairline.

Do lace wigs cost less than weaves and extensions?

Hair extensions are very expensive, you have to pay for the hair, and also pay for a stylist to install and up-keep. Hair extensions require a lot of maintenance. Extensions damage your scalp and hair, and sometimes cause permanent hair loss. Many people switched to wearing lace wigs after experiencing hair loss from extensions, chemotherapy-therapy or other health related problems.

What is density?

Density is how thick or thin you want your hair to be. The standard density is 100% which is considered medium density.

What are bleached knots?

Bleached knots help make the hair appear as if it is growing from the scalp. When hair is tied to the lace, there is a dark knot where the hair is secured. Bleaching or "lightening" the knots reduces the visibility of this knot. On off black (1B) and dark brown hair, the knots are lightened to a light brown shade. Very light brown and blonde and shades usually do not need bleached knots.

Which style cap should I use?

In order to determine the style cap that you should buy is determined by how you would like to wear your wig. There are several styles of cap styles, here are the basic cap styles:
* Full lace with a little stretch lace ear to ear, can be worn in a high ponytail.
* Full lace without stretch, can be worn in a high ponytail.
* Full lace with stretch lace from ear to ear, not the best option for a high ponytail.
* Lace Front Cap, Swiss Lace or French Lace in the front & stretch lace on the back, high ponytail not achievable.
* Silk Top cap, hidden or injected knots, stretch lace at crown, can be worn in high ponytail.

What is baby hair?

Baby hairs are the fine hairs that are ventilated around the perimeter of the wig. It gives a more natural appearance because most people have shorter hair around their hairline and nape. Baby hairs may also be used to cover beginner flaws during an application.
Can I still wear a lace wig even if I have a full head of hair?
Yes, regardless of the amount of hair you have, you will still be able to enjoy a lace wig. You must secure your natural hair as flat as possible. We recommend that you either cornrow your hair going straight back or mold your hair in a circular motion.

Who can wear a lace wig?

Lace wigs are for anyone! Men, Women, Teens, Children, young and old. Lace wigs are great for cancer patients, alopecia patients, anyone experiencing hair loss due to chemotherapy, or scalp disease. Lace wigs are for all cultures as well!

Can I exercise or swim with my lace wig?

YES, lace wigs are just like your real hair, you can do normal activities with such as exercising, swimming, showering, sweating, etc. We recommend that you do not get your wig wet in the first 24 hours after you apply the adhesive. We also recommend that you use water proof adhesive.

What is ventilation?

Ventilation is the process in which hair is hand tied on to the lace, creating what are called "knots".

What are the differences in hair texture?

*Brazilian Remy:Exotic deep spirals, luxurious waves.


*Chinese Remy:This type of hair should only be chosen if you want a very straight wig. Chinese Remy hair is naturally shiny, it also does not hold a curl, and it is slightly coarser. This hair does not tangle or shed like regular Chinese hair sold in the beauty supply stores.


*European Remy:(Russian Hair, Caucasian Hair) is fine to medium density, and it has a naturally straight to slight wave. It is available in a variety of colors, mostly dark blondes to medium browns. This hair type is more expensive.
Indian Remy:This is the most versatile hair type. The texture is silky soft with subtle waves. It can be easily curled and is less coarse than Chinese Remy hair.

*Mongolian Remy:The Mongolian Remy Hair is softer and silkier than Asian and Indian Remy. It has more movement and lays down smoother than the other hair types. It does not have as much texture as Indian Remy so it may wave up slightly.


*Malaysian Remy:This hair type is sleek and straight with a slight bend. This hair moves freely and holds a curl well.

Where does the hair come from? The hair is harvested from a single donor (in some cases it is necessary to use hair from two donors) and it's cuticles are kept in tact and aligned in the same direction to ensure manageability. If the cuticles are not aligned, the hair is more prone to tangling and matting.

How do I prevent shedding? SPICY HAIR recommends that you use knot sealer to seal your knots on the underside of your wig. Flip your wig inside out and be sure to protect the hair that is left out, you could use a plastic bag. Spray a light coat of knot sealer on the knots of the lace wig cap. You should seal your knots after every washing.

What is the difference between synthetic hair and human hair? Human hair is made with hair donated from a person. Synthetic hair is made from man-made fibers. Human hair wigs are more durable and more versatile than synthetic wigs. Our synthetic wigs are made from "futura" fiber, which is heat resistant and can be curled up to 180 degrees. Synthetic hair is very good for people who are beginner's and would like to try lace wigs for the first time.

What is French Lace? French Lace is delicate, yet durable. If you are a first time lace wig wearer French Lace is recommended because it does not tear as easily.

What is Swiss Lace? Swiss Lace is slightly thinner, yet very delicate. This type of lace rips easily. It is best to learn how to apply lace wigs prior to advancing to Swiss Lace.

What is Injection Silk Base Lace? Injection Silk Base Lace is the newest innovation to lace wigs. The base is made from 2 swiss lace pieces (one on top and one on bottom). The hair is tied using reverse ventilation, which involves tying the hair from the bottom to the top so the knots are hidden in the bottom lace. This gives the appearance that the hair is growing directly from the scalp.

How do I dye the lace? SPICY HAIR recommends that you only dye the lace that is visible (the front hairline and perimeter). Take a q-tip and dab it into Rit Fabric Dye, dab q-tip onto the wig cap base where you wish to change the color. We recommend you use a Rit Dye that is darker than your skin tone. How much lace do I cut? SPICY HAIR recommends that you use a new pair of sharp scissors to trim the lace away. Make sure to leave 1/8" to 1/4" of bare lace. If you leave some of the lace uncut, if your lace begins to fray, your wig will not loose hair. The small strip of lace disappears when it is attached to your head.

How do I prevent lace from fraying? SPICY HAIR recommends that you use Fray Check.

What color lace should I choose? Choose the lace color that closely matches your skin tone. It is always better for the lace to be too light than to be too dark. Please see our lace color chart for your available options.
